Dr. Joanne Kim offers pre and post operative care for patients undergoing LASIK eye surgery or other eye surgical procedures. Our goal is to help you attain the clearest vision possible using advanced technologies.

Evaluation and Referral

At Wink Family EyeCare, we provide evaluations and referrals for patients interested in LASIK or other refractive surgeries. Dr. Joanne Kim performs a complete review of your patient history as well as a full assessment of your eye health and vision. A current exam is important to determining if you are a candidate for LASIK or other refractive surgeries and to check if there any other factors that may affect your results. Dr. Kim will evaluate your eyes and discuss your visual goals to help determine if you are an appropriate candidate.

If after the preoperative evaluation, the decision is made to proceed with surgery, our optometrist, Dr. Kim will start a referral to a trusted and respected surgeon. Post-operative management will be provided by our doctors, and includes multiple visits over a period from the date of surgery to include medical evaluation, management of the vision and corneal healing. Evaluation of any additional needs such as reading glasses, sunglasses or enhancement laser procedures is also included.

LASIK is currently the most popular vision-correcting or “refractive” surgery available. But there are other options as well. We will help you find the ideal solution for your problem and partner with the best surgeon to perform your procedure.

Post-Operative Care

Once your surgery is scheduled, we will schedule follow-up appointments for you in our Cypress office. Typically, you will begin these follow-ups the day after the surgery and continue at prearranged times over the following six months. After 1 year, a full exam is recommended to determine the long-term results of your procedure. Dr. Kim is experienced in working with patients pre and post operation and will answer any questions that you have along the way.
